Emmy Nominations 2018: “Stranger Things”, Donald Glover, “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy”, and More
The 2018 Emmy Awards have announced this year’s nominations. The list, which was hosted by Orange Is The New Black's Samira Wiley and New Amsterdam's Ryan Eggold, was dominated by Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino), John Legend, “Stranger Things”, and “Westworld”. He took home several awards last year’s Emmys, including Outstanding Directing for Comedy Series for “Atlanta”, where he was the first black person to take home an award in the category.
Some note-worthy nominations include Issa Rae’s nom for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her part in “Insecure”, and Anthony Bourdain’s nomination for his CNN series “Parts Unknown”. Bruno Mars has also been nominated in the Outstanding Music Direction category, for his concert special “Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo”, where his name stands by the music directors for Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl halftime show and Elton John’s Grammy salute.
The award show will take place on September 17 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and you can check out the full list of nominations here.
