Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Will It Surpass The Success of the Prequel?
Early reviews are out for the upcoming blockbuster Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It is the fifth movie overall in the Jurassic Park series that began in 1993, but serves as the middle chapter in a trilogy that kicked off 2015’s Jurassic World, which really surpassed expectations and even landed a spot on the world’s top grossing films in history.
Fallen Kingdom picks up when the same couple lead a mission to rescue the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar when the island’s dormant volcano unexpectedly erupts. Everything changes when they discover that the real reason their operation was funded was based on a conspiracy that could endanger the world at large.
There are positive comments from Screen Rant and THR, suggesting that the movie "provides the fun and adventure moviegoers have come to expect from the franchise, while providing a great deal of horror and perhaps even more heart than viewers may be expecting.”
At the same time, negative reviews are claiming that the movie lost its soul, and has “given us no heroes worth rooting for”.
In the wake of the box office lunacy that drove “Jurassic World” to become the fifth-highest grossing movie of all time, this movie’s got some very large shoes to fill.
